Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 18, 2026 · Loophead Labs LLC
Summary
RecipeLift stores all data locally on your device. No recipe data, browsing history, or personal information is sent to any server. The extension does not use analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
What data RecipeLift accesses
When you click the RecipeLift icon on a page, the extension reads the content of the current tab to find recipe data (ingredients, instructions, times, images). This happens entirely in your browser. The page content is not transmitted anywhere.
RecipeLift uses the activeTab permission, which means it can only read a tab when you explicitly click the extension icon. It cannot read tabs in the background, monitor your browsing, or access any page you have not actively chosen to scan.
What data RecipeLift stores
RecipeLift stores the following data locally using Chrome's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- Saved recipes: Name, ingredients, instructions, image URL, source URL, tags, and metadata for recipes you choose to save.
- Preferences: Your Pro/free status and any settings you configure.
All of this data lives on your device. It is never uploaded to, processed by, or cached on any external server.
What data RecipeLift does NOT collect
- No personally identifiable information (name, email, address, IP)
- No browsing history or page URLs (beyond the source URL of recipes you save)
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No cookies or fingerprinting
- No advertising data
- No data shared with or sold to third parties
Payment processing
RecipeLift uses ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) for Pro upgrades. ExtensionPay processes payments through Stripe. When you upgrade, your payment is handled entirely by Stripe. RecipeLift does not see, store, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or other financial details. ExtensionPay stores a record of your purchase to verify your Pro status; their privacy policy is available at extensionpay.com/privacy-policy.
Affiliate links
RecipeLift includes links to grocery delivery services: Instacart, Walmart, Kroger, and Amazon Fresh. These links may contain affiliate tracking identifiers that allow Loophead Labs LLC to earn a commission on qualifying purchases. These shop links are available in both the popup (for the current recipe) and the grocery list feature (for combined shopping lists). Clicking these links is optional and does not transmit any personal data from RecipeLift to the retailer. Standard retailer privacy policies apply once you leave the extension.
Third-party services
RecipeLift does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data processing services. The only external services involved are:
- ExtensionPay / Stripe for payment processing (Pro upgrade only)
- Instacart, Walmart, Kroger, and Amazon Fresh via affiliate links in the popup and grocery list feature (user-initiated only)
Data retention and deletion
Your saved recipes and preferences are stored locally and persist until you delete them. You can delete individual recipes from the Recipe Box or reset all data from Chrome's extension management page (chrome://extensions > RecipeLift > Details > Clear data).
Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
Children's privacy
RecipeLift does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The extension does not collect personal data from any user.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the extension's changelog.
